Twitham Barn is a Grade II listed four bay Kentish Barn with a separate two bedroom cottage (circa 1700) and large workshop and parking.  It has been lovingly converted by the owners to an exceptionally high standard, retaining a wealth of beams and a number of vaulted ceilings.

On the ground floor the lounge, dining hall and kitchen have been designed for open plan living.  Also on this floor there is a cloakroom, bedroom 1 and bedroom 2 with ensuite shower room and a delightful snug.

There is an oak staircase leading to the first floor which accesses a galleried landing overlooking stunning full height vaulted ceilings over the dining hall and lounge.

Following through, there is a family bathroom with whirlpool bath / shower and opposite there is a bright double bedroom with ample fitted cupboards and drawers.

Next door there is a very large master bedroom with stunning vaulted ceiling, ample fitted cupboards and drawers and walk around dressing room area.  On entering this room, there is a modern wet room, large porcelain tiles to the walls and marble floor and glass etched wall.

The barn has full underfloor heating, a wood burning stove in the lounge and a large loft area with shelving.  All bedrooms have fitted carpets and wide oak boards to the lounge floor.  The hallway has a floor of large flagstones which are also on both the front and rear patios.

The hallway has large full height glass and oak cart doors to the front and rear which can be opened on to the patio on a summer’s day.  The total size of the plot is approximately 1/3 acre with a large pond to the front and lawn and shrub beds to the rear.

The two bedroom cottage annexe has open plan lounge and kitchen with shower room and has it’s own private garden.  Complete privacy is given to both the barn and annexe by laurel hedging.

We have been operating a two bedroom B & B in the barn since September 2009 and have achieved a 5 Star rating from the Tourist Board.  Besides this income, there is also an income from the annexe which is currently rented out on a two months notice agreement.

Twitham Barn is situated on a farm in a small rural hamlet close to pubs, village shops,  bank, doctors, church and primary school, which can be found in the attractive village of Wingham.  Toddlers Groups can be found in both Wingham and Staple.  Both these villages have thriving community activities and are very friendly.  Local produce can be purchased from the many farm shops nearby.

The Cathedral / University City of Canterbury is approximately 20 minutes and this now has the high speed rail link which also stops at Sandwich.  The Port of Dover is 20 minutes away and Channel Tunnel 30 minutes.  The A2 to London / Dover is approximately 5 minutes.
