This is also the hamlet where the well known television series ‘The Darling Buds of May’ was filmed. A more comprehensive range of shopping, recreational and education facilities can be found at Tenterden (8 miles) or Ashford (8 miles).

* Pluckley station (1.5 miles) or Headcorn station (15 miles) provide commuter services to Charing Cross/Cannon Street in just over one hour. Both benefit from two services an hour. Ashford International (8 miles) provides services to London St Pancras in 38 minutes, as well as Eurostar services to Paris and Brussels.

Tuesnoad Cottage is situated in a quiet country lane and is approached by an opening to a large turning and parking area in front of the timber-framed double garage and annexe. Behind the annexe are two recently built stables with a store room. From the drive a pretty brick path, bordered on either side by herbaceous beds, leads from a trellis gateway to the front door. This leads round the side of the house to a large Bethersden marble terrace area.

The gardens are a truly delightful feature of the property having been laid to extensive areas of lawn with a wide variety of mature trees and shrubs. There is a magnificent willow tree and behind the annexe is a small private lawn for their use, leading to a vegetable garden with a series of raised beds. In one corner of the garden is a hard tennis court (in need of resurfacing) and in a secluded spot adjacent to this is an above ground swimming pool with filtration equipment. Beyond the garden is a paddock.

Directions

From Junction 9 of the M20 take the exit to Ashford. At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit on to the A28 signposted Tenterden, continue towards Tenterden on the A28 after 6.5 miles from the motorway in the village of Bethersden turn right into Forge Hill and then right again onto Mill Road. At the crossroads turn left and continue for approximately 1.5miles towards Pluckley before turning left sign posted Smarden. Keep to the right at the first junction and the cottage will be found shortly on the right hand side after approximately ½ a mile
