To celebrate our successes over the last parliament, the Club invited over 200 members to a House of Commons reception, hosted by APPG chair Craig Mackinlay MP with minister for culture Helen Whatley speaking. Members had an opportunity to raise their concerns and discuss the future of our campaign in the next parliament.
There was some lively debate and it was great to see so many Club members who were well informed, politically engaged and ready to fight for change. The imminent arrival of a new parliament is an amazing opportunity to gain wider support and see that our reforms are pushed through.
Once the new parliament is in place, we are asking all members to write to their MPs to ask them to join the APPG on Listed Properties. Whether they are a new candidate, or a long-standing fixture, it’s always important to take the time to reach out and ensure they know listed buildings matter within their constituency.
